Check if a specific port is open or closed on any host

About Port Checker

A service can be running perfectly and still appear dead if its port is blocked somewhere between you and the server. Whether you're hosting a game server, exposing a web app, or setting up remote access, the question is always the same: is this port actually reachable from the outside? This checker answers that without you digging through firewall rules.

Enter a host and a port number, and the tool attempts a connection to report whether it's open or closed. It works straight from your browser with no software to download and no signup. Run it as often as you need while you tweak firewall settings or port-forwarding rules and watch the status change.

Common uses

  • Confirming a port forward on your router actually opened a game or app port
  • Checking whether a self-hosted server is reachable from outside your network
  • Diagnosing why a service connection keeps timing out
  • Verifying a firewall rule took effect after editing it

FAQ

Does an open result mean the service is healthy?

It means the port accepted a connection. The service behind it might still be misconfigured, but at least the door is reachable.

Why does a port show closed when my service is running?

Usually a firewall, ISP block, or missing port forward is stopping the connection before it reaches your service.

Can I check ports on any host?

You can check publicly reachable hosts. Devices behind NAT or on a private LAN may not be reachable from the public internet.

Can I use Port Checker on mobile?

Yes — ToolHub is fully responsive and works on iPhone, Android, tablets and all modern browsers. No app install needed.
