About Audio Normalize

Ever line up several clips only to find one is whisper-quiet and the next blasts you out of your seat? Inconsistent volume is one of the most common audio headaches, whether you're stitching interviews together or just want a track that plays at a comfortable, even level.

Audio Normalize analyzes your file and adjusts its overall loudness to a consistent target, raising quiet sections or taming overly loud ones so the result sits at a balanced level. Just upload, normalize, and download. Everything happens in your browser at no cost, with no account and no watermark, and your file isn't kept once you've finished.

Common uses

  • Even out volume across multiple recordings before merging them
  • Make a too-quiet voice memo loud enough to hear clearly
  • Prepare consistent-level tracks for a playlist or album
  • Bring podcast episodes to a uniform loudness
  • Fix clips that play far louder or softer than the rest

FAQ

What's the difference between normalizing and just turning up the volume?

Normalizing analyzes your whole file and adjusts it to a target level intelligently, rather than blindly increasing gain. This avoids clipping while still making the audio consistently loud.

Will normalizing make quiet background noise louder too?

If you raise overall volume, any existing background noise rises with it. For noisy files, remove the noise first, then normalize.

Does it change the audio quality?

Normalizing only adjusts levels, so it doesn't degrade quality on its own. Extreme boosts on already-loud files could introduce distortion, which the tool aims to avoid.

Can I use Audio Normalize on mobile?

Yes — ToolHub is fully responsive and works on iPhone, Android, tablets and all modern browsers. No app install needed.
